New option allows prospective employees to create online accounts, submit applications and receive customized job openings via email

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – The Illinois Tollway today launched a new system that allows job seekers to create and maintain a secure, personal account on the Tollway’s website, then submit applications and resumes for open jobs.

The new system also allows job seekers to submit their contact information on a “Job Interest Card,” even if they are not applying for a specific, open position, and then select from several employment categories of interest ranging from administration and engineering positions to drivers, maintenance and construction-trade workers.

Job seekers will receive an automatic email notification when a position becomes available in a job category they have selected. The information on the “Job Interest Card” will remain on file with the Tollway for one year and the new system will provide prospective employees the option to extend the notifications for another year.

“The Illinois Tollway is always looking for the best and most qualified candidates to join our team and these improvements will make it easier for those job applicants to reach us,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi Lafleur. “The new features will help us find and hire talented employees when we have positions to fill.”

The new system streamlines the job application process by allowing prospective employees to complete and submit applications for posted positions directly to the Tollway’s website. Once they have created their password-protected account on the Tollway’s website, prospective employees can create and save an application, which can be used in the future to apply for other Tollway positions. That application can be updated as skills and work experience change.
Previously, prospective employees had to visit the Tollway’s website to fill out an application, then email it back to apply for an open position. In addition, job seekers previously were unable to create personal accounts or post resumes via the Tollway’s website.

To apply for a posted position or to create a “Job Interest Card,” applicants should visit the Tollway’s website,

Completed applications still may be mailed to the Tollway or dropped off in person at the agency’s Downers Grove headquarters between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All applications must be received within the dates indicated on the job posting.
